Pink lips are the dream of every woman. But when it darkens you start to become conscious and you may lose your confidence also.
There are some reasons behind the lip’s discoloration, sometimes your lifestyle & stress level also affects because stress lowers the oxygen level in your body that may give lips discoloration or darkening.
Excessive exposure to sun rays without any sunscreen leads to hyperpigmentation on the lips.
Smoking is the most common reason for the darkening of the lips.
Lips dryness – to prevent lips dryness, lips skin starts to produce more melanin production which gives hyperpigmentation on the lips.
Blood toxins – skin is very thin on the lips. Hence, the blood vessels, which are present in larger numbers within the lips, are more visible, it also contains nerve endings. Because of that toxin present in the blood gives dark color to the lips.
Regular chipping the lips, damages the lips & gives blackness.
Regularly drinking very hot liquid also damages the lips & gives dark color to the lips.
Using cheap quality products on the lips also causes darkening of lips.
To make your lips naturally pink, follow some night routine –
Exfoliate regularly – All you need to do is wet a napkin or a baby tooth brush and gently rub your lips with it in gentle movements. This removes dead skin and the dry outer layer of the lips, while also improving blood circulation.
- Take slice of tomato, add rice flour on it & scrub the lips with it.
- Take some honey, add little sugar in it & scrub the lips with it.
Moisturize regularly – nourish the lips with Vaseline or malai or ghee. You can add beetroot juice in it.
- Take 1 tsp bees wax or Vaseline, 1 tsp of virgin coconut oil & ½ tsp of beetroot juice. Mix it well & use it as a lip balm. Store it in a refrigerator.
Things to be remember:
- Prime your lips with almond or coconut oil before you apply lipstick. Wait for a few minutes and then apply lipstick. You can also use lip balm instead. This acts as a protective layer, keeping the lips moisturized and preventing them from drying out due to the lipstick.
- Avoid products with a lot of chemicals, especially long-stay lipsticks.
- Always make it a point to remove make-up before you sleep.
- Drinking more water to stay hydrated will prevent dry and chapped skin. It will also keep your lips looking plump and moist,
- Include beetroot, watermelon, berries, tomato, carrot, pomegranate in your diet.
- Do not over exfoliate the lips.
